graphic Whitelisting

DefenseWall has a built-in Whitelist of 'known as good' programs (digitally signed and the vendor is known as trusted).  Digitally signed files from trusted vendors will run from the protected 'Download Areas' automatically 'As Trusted'.

Whitelisting functions under the following rules:

1.
Run/open file with Untrusted Browser

If 'known as good', it is copied into the DefenseWallVC (virtualization container) folder, for security reasons, and runs as Trusted.  The original file will not be removed from the Untrusted Applications List.

2.
Download a file to 'Download Areas' folder and run with Untrusted Browser
If 'known as good', it is copied into the DefenseWallVC folder and run as Trusted.
The original file will be removed from the Untrusted Applications List.

3.
Download a file to 'Download Areas' folder and run with Trusted Process
If 'known as good', and for instance, run by Windows Explorer (trusted process),
it will run as Trusted.  The original file will be removed from the Untrusted Applications List.
